THE REJINA PYO STORE
I started REJINA PYO not only to make clothes that I wanted to wear, but to dress my friends and the inspiring women around me. It is the everyday elements of real life that I am really inspired by - and to see the doors of my first store open today to the public is the most amazing feeling. It is an opportunity to interact with our community directly, to share more than the finished products, by creating a world full of interesting curiosities. I want it to be the type of place you tell your friends about, a destination when travelling through London, where you can talk to our team and create lasting memories.
Over the coming year I am excited to host a series of talks, events, exhibitions and collaborations in store with fellow creatives who inspire me, and I am beyond excited for you to be a part of it.
-->I was honoured to work with some wonderful artists, designers and creators to bring my vision of the store to life. I started with a rough sketch of the rails, a kind of abstract shape of the human form, and a large mirror with curved steel surround, which Barnaby Lewis brought to life in the most beautiful way. The sculptural tables of travertine, aluminium and lace wood were co-designed with Elliot Barnes, the furniture is from my own collection, including pieces from Spazio Leone, and the selection of books around the store are curated by Lucy of Claire de Rouen Books.
Adorning the walls are paintings by two inspiring female artists Catherine Repko and Conie Vallese, and my secret passion for painting is revealed with one of my own works on the wall too. The photos which so elegantly capture the space are by Genevieve Lutkin. It was such a joy to work with you all - thank you so much.
