Ready to Wear Designer

As Ready to Wear Designer you will design and develop ready-to-wear collections under the direction of the Creative Director. You will work alongside the Design and Development Manager and oversee the product design and development process from research, sketching through to sampling and finished product. 

Specific duties:

  • Work with the Creative Director to design and develop seasonal clothing collections, working closely with the Design and Development Manager 
  • Contribute to the professional and smooth running of the design and development department, working closely with the Pattern Cutter and Design Interns on a daily basis
  • Contribute to and follow the design, development and production critical path timetable for ready-to-wear collections, working closely with the Design and Development Manager and production team to ensure deadlines are met 
  • Carry out visual research and design development based on the Creative Director’s creative concept and brief for the season
  • Produce initial sketches, sketch modification, drapings and 3D developments as directed by the Creative Director 
  • Research and source fabric, yarn, trimmings and other components for ready-to-wear designs - traveling to fabric fairs when necessary
  • Oversee sampling process and liaise with pattern cutter to develop patterns, toiles and samples for the ready-to-wear designs
  • Oversee fit sessions and ensure the modifications are reflected in the final spec sheets and patterns for ready-to-wear designs
  • Ensure samples are delivered on time, to the required standard and within budget
  • Liaise with pattern cutter to develop production ready patterns for the collection
  • Compile finished tech packs ready for sampling, revising and finalising them for production
  • Oversee accurate and appropriate costing of seasonal collections, working with the Design and Development Assistant and the Sales Manager
  • Ensure any and all design and development issues are discussed with the Creative Director in a timely manner
  • Report on the design and development progress at regular meetings with the company directors 
  • Manage Design interns, communicating with them daily to ensure appropriate direction and support on required tasks
  • Liaise with the Sales Manager and production team to manage exclusive and reordered products
  • Oversee dressers and any alterations required for seasonal shows 
  • Support the Creative Director with any other creative projects
  • Carry out other tasks or responsibilities as required by the company directors 


Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • MA or equivalent qualification in a fashion related subject from a recognised College or University
  • Significant prior experience in a design role within a womenswear fashion business
  • Detailed knowledge of women’s fashion and an ability to understand the brand’s design aesthetic
  • Ability to create and contribute to the design of cutting edge women’s ready to wear clothing and accessories with a high level of skills within visual design, technical drawing and pattern cutting
  • Strong technical knowledge of womenswear garments and an ability to come up with creative solutions for finishes 
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to manage the production process and timetable for seasons clothing collections 
  • Strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively manage team members

Studio Manager

The Studio Manager role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day running of the Rejina Pyo studio, with a specific focus on coordinating company shipping activity. This is a multi-faceted role and a great opportunity for the right candidate to grow within the company.

Specific duties include:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day running of the studio, under the direction of company directors and senior team members
  • Manage shipments and accompanying paperwork ensuring deadlines and customs requirements are met
  • Work with the Wholesale Sales Manager and E-commerce Coordinator to organise shipping/receiving for wholesale, e-commerce, press and other business activities
  • Manage relationships with logistics companies for shipping and deliveries, and respond to any issues which arise
  • Analyse and negotiate cost efficient shipping methods
  • Check quality of products shipped to studio before organising deliveries to stores and customers, noting and following up on any issues with directors
  • Support the Wholesale Manager in communicating delivery instructions to stockists
  • Maintain an organised studio workspace, coordinating any cleaning and repairs, and provide administrative support for the smooth running of the company 
  • Assess and suggest new systems and practices to improve the running of the studio 
  • Manage petty cash, including up to date tracking of income and expenditure, ensuring it follows company policy
  • Provide project coordination and support for brand events including fashion week, showroom and other pop ups 
  • Coordination and booking of travel arrangements
  • Provide support on correspondence, thank you notes and gifts to brand partners and friends 
  • Oversee hiring, training and day-to-day activities of interns, acting as their mentor and first point of contact
  • Liaise with the design team in order to oversee hiring and booking of freelance team members according to the critical path (including pattern cutters and sample machinists) 
  • Liaise with suppliers and factories for shipments and deliveries and on other issues as directed
  • Communicate with external partners and be responsible for organising thank you notes and correspondence 
  • Manage Rejina Pyo archives and work with the Design/Production teams and E-commerce Coordinator to ensure inventory is managed and tracked correctly 
  • Carry out other tasks or responsibilities as required by the company directors


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working in a wholesale environment, preferably in fashion with previous logistics and administration experience
  • Have knowledge of shipping / customs regulations and requirements
  • Be proficient in MS office, particularly Excel
  • Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
