Rejina Pyo RTW Design and Development Assistant - English & Korean speaking role


Job Description

As RTW Design and Development Assistant you will support the Creative Director with design and development for all clothing collections. You will work with the Design and Development team in London and Korea to support the product design and development process from research and sketching through to sampling and final production. 

**Please note - this role requires the candidate to speak fluent Korean and English**

Specific duties:

- Support the Creative Director to design and develop seasonal clothing collections, working closely with the Design and Development Coordinator 

- Work to the deadlines outlined in the design, development and production critical path timetable

- Carry out visual research and design development based on the Creative Director’s creative concept and brief for the season

- Produce initial sketches or sketch modifications as directed by the Creative Director

- Liaise with the production team in Korea to research and source fabric, yarn, trimmings and other components

- Support the sampling process, liaising with the Design and Development Coordinator

- Support fit sessions and ensure the modifications are reflected in the final spec sheets and patterns

- Ensure samples are delivered on time, to the required standard and within budget

- Liaise with the Design and Development Coordinator and pattern cutter to develop production ready patterns for the collection

- Develop tech packs ready for sampling, revising and finalising them for production

- Translate tech packs from English into Korean and write detailed technical descriptions in both English and Korean

- Liaise between the accessories design team and Korean factories for sampling and proto development

- Contribute to regular meetings with the company directors

- Liaise with Design and Development Coordinator and communicate with interns daily ensuring appropriate direction and support on required tasks

- Support organisation of exclusive and reordered products, liaising with the Design and Development Coordinator, Wholesale Sales Manager and the production team 

- Act as a dresser and assist on any alterations required at seasonal shows

- Support the Creative Director and Design and Development Manager with any other creative projects

- Carry out other tasks or responsibilities as required by the company directors

Design Studio Work Placement

Our Design / Studio Student Work Placement opportunity will provide you with a great opportunity for students undertaking their industry work placement to learn how every department of a young fashion design label works in a very practical process.
What you will be doing:
- Cataloging and filing fabrics/ trims for upcoming seasons
- Showroom and show preparations
- Supporting design team in general
- Liaising with other team members involved in the studio process
- Assisting with general studio admin day-to-day
- Assisting at the photoshoot
- Assisting in fitting preparation
- Liaising with all team members involved in the studio process
- General ad-hoc admin to support the rest of the team
- processing daily web shop orders
- University experience with draping on the stand
- Basic pattern cutting knowledge
- University experience sewing toiles and hand sewing
- Student level proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Student proficiency in technical drawing by hand
- Understanding of fabric characteristic
- Proven ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines at
- Pro-active and able to take initiative
- Excellent eye for detail
